Who We Are Looking For

  • A background in writing, debate, literature, psychology, public speaking or a related field
  • Native or near-native English speaker
  • Someone who can hold and facilitate discussions and activities in a classroom
  • Comfortable with living and working in Shanghai, China (and genuinely curious about it)
  • Adaptable, curious, and committed to your own growth as a coach

‼️ All applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree, have at least two years of relevant work experience, and be able to provide a clean medical and police background check. These are requirements for your China work visa.

What Your Week Looks Like

Most coaching happens in the evenings and at weekends, when students are free from school. Classes run one to two hours each. You will have two days off mid-week, time to explore the city, prepare sessions, or decompress.

It is not a nine-to-five. It suits people who want their mornings free and their afternoons and evenings purposeful.

How It Works

1. Get in touch

Submit your application online along with a bit about yourself and what draws you to ThinkWriteSpeak. We will then contact you via email to request a copy of your CV. Keep an eye out for an email from help@thinkwritespeak.com.cn!

2. Interview

If we are to move to the next stage, we will arrange a meeting with our founder for you to get to know each other and confirm the role is a good fit.

3. Teaching Task and Coach Interview

You prepare and deliver a short teaching task. You can also meet some members of the coaching team because it is as much a chance for you to assess us as it is for us to assess you.

4. Offer and Paperwork

We send you a written offer. When you sign and accept, we then move on to the visa and work permit process for you to work legally in China!
